Step 5: The KAIZEN Mid-Year Review™
Personal financial management, like physical fitness, is a continuous process. Goal-setting is based on the best information available at the time, but over time your financial objectives and the markets and interest rates that effect them will change. Regular reviews are important to continue fine-tuning your financial plan, identify areas for improvement and address any concerns.
At The KAIZEN Mid-Year Review™, we’ll re-visit the projections of your personal KAIZEN Financial Plan™ and compare them to the actual results achieved to-date.
The disciplined management of your investment portfolio ensures that if the asset class weightings have drifted, active re-balancing brings the target weightings back in line. This discipline takes the emotion out of the decision, and ensures that our “buy low, sell high” philosophy becomes a reality. A portion of the out-performing asset class is sold, and the gains are used to buy an equal amount of the under-performing asset class, at depressed prices.
Since life can and will provide a few curves along the way, we’ve also designed The Risk Sensitivity Analysis™ to protect your financial plan. Through this analysis we identify any unforeseen circumstances that could derail your success, including premature death, job loss, disability, diagnosis of a critical illness, elder care, long-term care, etc.
